September 7, 2022
The holidays of Rosh Hashanah (literally, "Head of the Year") and Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) make up what are known as the Yamim Noraim (High Holy Days).

These are days of repentance and self-reflection, of taking stock of our deeds and actions, and of offering special prayers.

They begin on the first day of the seventh month of the Hebrew calendar (Tishrei), which Jewish tradition considers to be the month of the creation of the universe. This year, the start of the Jewish New Year 5783 will be celebrated beginning on the evening of September 25, 2022, when the first star appears in the sky, and will last for 48 hours.
