- Gerardo Rubino of the National Institute for Research in Computer Science and Control, Rennes, France.
- José Valdeni de Lima of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
The 11th CLEI-UNESCO Master's Thesis Competition was held at the UNESCO office in Montevideo.
A total of 27 entries were submitted from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Mexico, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
In addition, 56 faculty members from the Latin American Center for Computer Science Studies (CLEI) community assisted in evaluating the projects.
The three contest winners will receive support from UNESCO and CLEI to present their work at the 30th CLEI conference, which will take place in Arequipa, Peru, from September 27 to October 1, 2004.
