Student short film named Best Short Film at the 11th Cine del Mar Festival

The event featured notable productions from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Paraguay, and Uruguay.

"Hogar," a short film by Victoria Drandich, Mikaela Feher, Maite Parrilla, Andrés Plat, Sebastián Taranto, and Erika Werner—senior students in the Bachelor of Communication program with a concentration in Audiovisual Studies—represented Universidad ORT Uruguay the 11thCine del Mar Festival Mar A Cinema of the Mercosur," which took place at the Enjoy Punta del Este Casino & Resort from July 11 to 15, 2018.

The film, co-produced by Universidad ORT Uruguay the students, was named Best Short Film alongside the Paraguayan short *Cuando el día nace*. Erika Werner served as director and screenwriter; Sebastián Taranto and Andrés Plat served as producers; Mikaela Feher was the assistant director; Victoria Drandich handled cinematography; and Maite Parrilla was the production designer.

The festival, a cultural event launched eleven years ago as part of the celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of Punta del Este, has been declared of Presidential Interest and has Ministry of Tourism, the Maldonado Departmental Government, the Municipality of Punta del Este, the Punta del Este Tourism and Development League, Universidad ORT Uruguay, the Ralli Museum Foundation, Mundo Glam, INCAA, Camtur, Cipetur, and the embassies of the participating countries.
