“Evidence from previous international studies suggests that collaboration among colleagues can make a substantial contribution to addressing the issues and challenges currently facing education.”
That is the view expressed by Mariela Questa-Torterolo, M.A., a professor and graduate advisor at the Institute of Education at Universidad ORT Uruguay, in the chapter “Teacher Collaboration: A Case Study in the Department of Colonia, Uruguay.”
This is a case study that examines the various forms of teacher collaboration in eight elementary and secondary schools located in the department of Colonia.
According to Questa-Torterolo’s research, the importance of studying this topic lies in the possibility of “identifying avenues for action and reflection regarding management models that foster relationships among teachers.”
The chapter can be found in the book *Education and Democracy: Challenges for Transformation*, edited by Fernando Acevedo, Karina Nossar, and Patricia Viera in 2017.
