The Specialization Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language is a graduate program designed to update the subject-specific and professional knowledge of English teachers, as well as of those instructors who teach their courses in English.
This is a course taught entirely in English and delivered online, which aims to provide a contextualized perspective on local and regional realities as they relate to English language instruction.
In particular, it covers non-traditional content in initial training, such as:
- Teaching English to students with learning disabilities;
- The various methods of assessing language proficiency;
- The latest trends and approaches in communicative language teaching;
- Training for trainers;
- The management of bilingual institutions; and
- Action research as a form of professional development.
The one-year training program is designed for English teachers at all levels, including early childhood, elementary, secondary, and higher education. It is also intended for teacher trainers, supervisors, coordinators, department heads, and university professors who use English as a medium of instruction.
The Specialization Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language will prepare you to address the latest teaching approaches and special educational needs in foreign languages.
Dr. Gabriel Díaz Maggioli, academic coordinator of the graduate program.
