Universidad ORT Uruguay several awards at the Uruguayan Hockey Federation’s awards ceremony for the 2019, 2020, and 2021 seasons. The ceremony took place on May 2 at OPTA Coliving Punta Carretas.
At that event, the hockey team received the following awards: 2019 Uruguayan Champion, 2019 Apertura Tournament Runner-up, 2019 Top Scorer in the Intermediate A category for Agustina Arcos (a former student in the Bachelor’s Degree in Management and Administration program), 2019 Champion Coach in the Intermediate A category for Bettina Bocca, and the 2021 Silver Cup Runner-up award.
On this occasion, team representatives Mariana Del Valle, a graduate of ORT’s Bachelor’s program in Graphic Design, and Natalia Rodríguez, a graduate of the university’s Bachelor’s program in Communication, along with the award-winning top scorer, Agustina Arcos, accepted the awards on behalf of the team.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a single awards ceremony was held to cover a three-year period. The event was organized to honor Las Cimarroncitas, Uruguay’s junior women’s hockey team, for achieving their first-ever victory at a World Junior Championship last April in South Africa.
