In April 2021, the project “Digital Technologies for Mathematics Education: Usage Analytics of the Adaptive Mathematics Platform (PAM), Systematic Mapping of Available Software, and Best Practices for Inclusive and Digital Mathematics” was selected for funding by the Education Sector Fund under the “Digital Inclusion: Education with New Horizons” program.

This project aims to assess the impact of digital platforms and tools on mathematics instruction in secondary education. More specifically, it seeks to identify, describe, and analyze the use of technology and best practices among mathematics teachers who incorporate digital tools into their teaching.

"Digital Technologies for Mathematics Education" is a project of the Institute of Education at Universidad ORT Uruguay, carried out in collaboration with the School of Engineering at Universidad ORT Uruguay, and with the support of the Institute for Educational Research at the University of Barcelona.

Dr. Eduardo Rodríguez Zidán—a professor, researcher, and member of the Academic Committee for the Doctor of Education program at the Institute of Education—serves as the project’s scientific director; Dr. Martin Solari—associate professor of Software Engineering at the School of Engineering and graduate advisor at the Institute of Education at Universidad ORT Uruguayserves as co-scientific director; and Dr. Pablo Rivera—professor in the Department of Didactics and Educational Organization at the University of Barcelona—as external international consultant.

The Education Sector Fund under the “Digital Inclusion: Education with New Horizons” program is an initiative of the National Agency for Research and Innovation and the Ceibal Foundation —with support from IDRC Canada—that provides funding for research projects that generate original data on the social or educational aspects of the Ceibal Plan.
