The call for speakers is now open for the fifth edition of TEDxMontevideo, which will focus on education. The Montevideo event will be one of the first TEDx ED from across the continent and will take place on August 6, 2014, at the Adela Reta National Auditorium.
The TEDxMontevideo website traces the history of the deep connection between this nonprofit organization and education.
“The topic has become central to TED and TEDx conferences, so much so that in 2013 an e-learning platform called TED-Ed was created, where you can take any video from the vast YouTube collection and create a lesson with questions, discussions, and other learning strategies,” the site highlights.
Subsequently, TED introduced a new special ED license that gives TEDx communities the option to host an event specifically focused on creating and innovating in education.
