In March of this year, the country came to a standstill with the arrival of COVID-19 in Uruguay. Since then, we have faced countless challenges.
At first, it seemed difficult to imagine how we could move forward with the various activities planned for the year. However, amid the uncertainty, a tool emerged that became our greatest ally: online learning. Thanks to it, Universidad ORT Uruguay was Universidad ORT Uruguay only able to continue offering classes but also to maintain its schedule of lectures.

"The World After the Coronavirus"
Without a doubt, the onset of the pandemic became a historic event on a global scale. As such, it brought about transformations, changes, and challenges. What will happen once we have overcome this pandemic? Francisco de Santibañes, M.A.—secretary general of the Argentine Council for International Relations (CARI)—spoke on this topic.
"Leadership in Times of Social Distancing"
This lecture was given by Carolina Bellora, Executive Director of BizArt Group and visiting professor at the School of Graduate Business Studies at ORT’s School of Administration and Social Sciences, addressed the challenges faced by leaders of various organizations in a specific context, such as social isolation. This event was held as part of the Management and Business Lecture Series.

This lecture, presented by architects Walter Debenedetti, Fernando Pereira, and Ramiro Chaer, focused on the restoration and repurposing project for the Real de San Carlos Bullring in Colonia del Sacramento.
"Designing Landscapes"
What is landscape architecture? What does a landscape architect do? These are some of the questions answered by Paula Rial, an architect and instructor for the elective course “Landscape Architecture Workshop.” Currently, Universidad ORT Uruguay has new academic program: the degree program Landscape Design Technician.

This presentation, part of the ORT|UN75 Media Lab lecture series, focused on the value of creativity as a driving force for social transformation. Pipe Stein, CEO of Notable Publicidad, and Juan Ciapessoni, founder of The Electric Factory—two leading figures in the industry—led the session.
"The Keys to Social Innovation"
This exhibition was also part of the ORT|UN75 Media Lab lecture series. Led by Álvaro Moré, president of the Young & Rubicam Group, and Nicolás Jodal, CEO of GeneXus, the event offered a reflection on the constant state of transformation we find ourselves in, the challenges this entails, and the disruptive thinking models that can serve as allies in achieving great solutions.

"The Role of Hydrogen in the Energy Transition"
Countries around the world are working to accelerate the development and use of hydrogen technology to address environmental concerns and improve energy security. Jorge Ferreiro, an engineer specializing in this field, discussed the role of hydrogen as a new way to generate clean energy at this conference.
"Technological revolutions"
Since the Industrial Revolution, the pace of technological change has accelerated steadily. In this context, this talk, presented by Fernando Brum, presents and analyzes the techno-economic paradigm as a conceptual framework for understanding the dynamics of technological revolutions and models for financing innovation.

"A Look at Uruguayan Research"
The lack of scale, insufficient infrastructure, limited budgets, and scarce time are some of the factors that put Uruguayan research at a competitive disadvantage. This is one of the findings of the doctoral dissertation by Marcelo Gambetta, a graduate of the Doctor of Education at Universidad ORT Uruguay, who led this videoconference.

“Educational inclusion is the great black hole of higher education.” “There’s no collective thinking; we have a long way to go before inclusion becomes a reality.” These are just two of the statements that Lía Fernández—a graduate of the Doctor of Education program at Universidad ORT Uruguay—collected for her doctoral thesis. In this webinar, Lía analyzed the perceptions of faculty, university administrators, and students with disabilities regarding inclusive policies and practices at the University of the Republic (UdelaR).
