The event is taking place on July 22 and 23 at the Fidélitas University in Costa Rica.

The team consisting of Gonzalo Camaño, Juan Andrés Arraga, and Sebastián Fernández, accompanied by Ethel Kornecki, a faculty member and assistant in the Cybersecurity Academic Coordination Office, is participating in the event.

The Cyber 9/12 Strategy Challenge is an annual cyberpolicy and strategy competition in which teams from Latin America and the Caribbean compete to develop policy recommendations for addressing a fictional cyber disaster.

Student teams will be challenged to respond to an evolving scenario involving a major cyberattack, as well as to analyze the threat it poses to the interests of the public and private sectors.

Teams will be evaluated based on the quality of their proposals, their decision-making, and their presentation to the panel of judges.

Through this process, teams will work with coaches at their institutions to develop their policy-making skills, and feedback from panels of expert judges will ensure that all participants have the opportunity to improve their skills and network during the competition.
