The director took part in the book launch for *The Girl Who Watched the Trains Leave* in Madrid

The Sefarad-Israel Center, the Jewish Community of Madrid, the Uruguayan Embassy in Spain, and SUMA Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial organized the book launch for *The Girl Who Watched the Trains Leave*, by Ruperto Long.

On that occasion, Prof. Charlotte de Grünberg, president of Universidad ORT Uruguay, a Holocaust survivor, and the novel’s protagonist, spoke with the author.

The event took place on May 16, 2019, at the Sefarad-Israel Center in Madrid.

During the launch, the center’s director general, Miguel de Lucas, delivered a welcome address. Carlos Malamud, professor of American History at the UNED and principal investigator at the Elcano Royal Institute, also spoke.

Dr. Carlos Barañano, Minister-Counselor at the Uruguayan Embassy in Madrid, attended the presentation, along with other members of the embassy.
