November 30, 2011
The company Kidbox, founded by Alan Kind, a graduate of the Web Design program, and Martín Larre, a graduate of the Marketing Analyst program, won first prize in the Startup Competition.

The competition took place on November 29 and 30 in São Paulo, Brazil, and was organized by Red Innova for Ibero-America, recognizing innovative startups from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Spain, Portugal, and Uruguay.

Kidbox offers a web service for children, specifically designed for Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking families. It is a browser that children can use safely and independently. The developers have worked for brands such as Disney, Discovery Kids, Longman Pearson, and One Laptop per Child, among others.

This startup won 3rd place in the 2010 Venture Day Iberoamericano + R competition, organized by the university, which connected them with the National Agency for Research and Innovation, which provided funding to develop the project alongside the Emprender Fund.

In October 2011, the company ranked among the top five startups in the region in the 2011 edition of the Intel Latin America Challenge.
