In recognition of the quality of its educational program, curriculum, resources, and facilities, the Architecture program at Universidad ORT Uruguay been accredited by the Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC).
In December 2022, the ARCU SUR Ad Hoc Accreditation Commission issued its final decision, accrediting the Architecture program for a period of six years. On June 28, 2023, the accreditation was granted by the MEC.
ARCU-SUR accreditation serves as an international seal of quality for university degree programs.
The Regional Accreditation System for University Programs (ARCU-SUR) is an accreditation system for university programs implemented in Latin America, specifically in the Mercosur region. ARCU-SUR was created with the aim of promoting quality and continuous improvement in higher education in the region through the evaluation and accreditation of academic programs.
ARCU-SUR's Third Accreditation: A Distinguished Accolade for a Unique Architecture Program
Within this framework, quality criteria and standards are established for the accreditation of academic programs in areas such as academic organization, curriculum, faculty training, resources, and services, among other relevant aspects. Higher education institutions seeking accreditation for their programs must undergo an evaluation process conducted by peer review committees composed of experts in the field.
The ARCU-SUR accreditation aims to ensure the quality and relevance of university degree programs, promoting continuous improvement and academic excellence in the Mercosur region.
This is the third time that the Architecture program at Universidad ORT Uruguay accreditation through the ARCU-SUR system (2009, 2016, and 2022). Over the past 13 years, the program has demonstrated a continuous process of improvement in the quality of its education, which has once again been evaluated and recognized by the regional quality assurance system.
