The new habits of the new normal

As part of Rediseña 2021, Montevideo Shopping and Universidad ORT Uruguay a collaborative design project aimed at upcycling old clothing and items from participating brands.

Alice Otegui, who holds a bachelor’s degree in fashion design, and Nicolás Noblía, who holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial design, gave a presentation on design processes, meaningful products, and onomatopoeia. They delved into the design process itself, emphasizing a sustainable approach that permeates the entire process to create authentic, impactful products. Rather than focusing solely on upcycling, they provided examples of various ways to approach sustainability.

From a communications perspective, Carina Caporale gave a talk on the importance and key elements of building a brand that complements and enhances creativity and design. She focused on the keys to building a strong, inspiring brand that connects with people and transcends commercial considerations. Caporale maintains that she believes in the power of brands as agents of change and as tools for connecting companies, causes, and products with people’s lives.
