On March 18, the Luz y Verdad, Drs. Víctor and Clara Soriano Awards for Science and Technology, presented by B'nai B'rith, were handed out.
This year, the jury was composed of Antel President Fernando Bracco; Dr. María Simón, dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of the Republic; and Dr. Jorge Grünberg, rector Universidad ORT Uruguay.
Present at the awards ceremony were the President of the Republic, Dr. Jorge Batlle; the Vice President of the Republic, Prof. Luis Hierro López; the Mayor of Montevideo, Architect Mariano Arana; and the Minister of Education and Culture, Dr. Antonio Mercader.
The first prize, presented by the President of the Republic, was awarded to engineer Claudio Risso.
