The research project “The Impact of B Corporations on the Inclusion of Women and Young People” by Dr. Ricardo Kaufmann, associate professor of General Management in the School of Management and Social Sciences; Gabriela Pérez, M.A., a professor of General Management in the school; and Gonzalo Sobral, M.A., Gonzalo Sobral, a professor of Ethics and Social Responsibility at the School of Communication and Design, was selected for funding by Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC).
The faculty members submitted their project in response to the call for research proposals titled “Characterization and Measurement of the Impact of B Corporations on the Inclusion of Youth and Women in Latin America,” which is being organized by the IDRC.
On July 16, 2018, the faculty members were notified that their project had been selected to proceed to the research phase. The study will examine the inclusion of women and young people in sustainable businesses in Uruguay, Argentina, and Chile.
Mary-Ann Cooper, academic coordinator at Academia B Chile, praised the teachers’ work and said, “Their proposal has demonstrated that, as a team, they have presented a clear, original, and relevant project.”
