September 30, 2015
Since September 2015, the university has been participating in the Partnership Hub of the Latin American Food Design Network through the School of Communication and Design. It is a nonprofit organization whose objectives are to establish a leading hub for food design in Latin America, raise the profile of Latin American initiatives, integrate this emerging discipline into the diverse knowledge bases on food and design in the region and around the world, and contribute to training in food design.

The definition of food design encompasses any action that enhances our relationship with food in a wide variety of ways and/or aspects; these actions may relate to both the design of the food product itself and its context, including objects, spaces, and processes.
