The scholarships are intended for young people from across the country whose income and that of their families do not allow them to fully finance their studies.
Scholarships areawarded based on the applicant's familyincome and the score obtained on the international Academic Aptitude Test (PAA), which is administered and graded by the College Board in the United States.
This fund awards scholarships covering up to 80% of tuition for the entire degree program.
The exam is administered at Universidad ORT Uruguay twice a year: in October and February.
For the 2002 academic year, 391 applicants took the exam, and 193 scholarships were awarded.
