There, he not only worked on the news program but also hosted two shows of his own: “El Muro,” about the experiences and challenges faced by those attempting to cross the border between Mexico and the United States; and “Falkland Malvinas,” about the disputed archipelago.
This interest in international affairs is linked to his other background, as José Ignacio is also an international affairs analyst at Universidad ORT Uruguay and a student pursuing abachelor’s degree in International Studies at the School of Management and Social Sciences. He is just two credits away from graduating, but he decided to embark on another adventure first.
To further his career and strengthen his profile as an international journalist, José Ignacio traveled to Europe a few weeks ago to spend an academic semester at ICHEC Brussels Management School in Belgium. While this marks a hiatus in his local journalism career, it opens the door for him to work with Monte Carlo TV as a correspondent in Russia 2018.
As we walked through the streets of Toledo, Spain, during a stopover on our way to Belgium, José told us about the work he’ll be doing in Russia, his degree in International Studies, and his exchange program in Belgium.
