A Closer Look at Trusts and Their Tax Implications at Universidad ORT Uruguay

On June 16 and 22, ORT held the seminars "Trusts: Accounting and Auditing Aspects" and "Tax Aspects of Trusts," both led by university faculty members.

The lecture titled "Trusts: Accounting and Auditing Aspects" was presented by Álvaro Scarpelli, CPA, and Rodrigo Ribeiro, CPA.

Mr. Scarpelli is a tenured professor of Operational Auditing in the School of Business and Social Sciences; he is also an audit partner and head of the Banking, Finance, and Management Assurance Services practice at KPMG Uruguay.

In addition, Mr. Ribeiro is an adjunct professor of Corporate Finance in the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program and the Diploma in Finance program; he is also a consultant at KPMG Uruguay.

The lecture titled "Tax Aspects of Trusts" was presented by Eduardo Jadra, CPA, and Fernando Foti, CPA.

Both speakers are instructors for the Taxation III course in the School of Business and Social Sciences.

In addition, Mr. Jadra is the partner in charge of the Tax Department at CPA/Ferrere, and Mr. Foti is the manager of the Tax Department at CPA/Ferrere.
