Universidad ORT Uruguay the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava are promoting an exchange agreement for faculty and students

The Slovak institution is seeking academic cooperation in South America by signing agreements with the region's leading universities.

During their visit to Uruguay from October 21 to 23, Marcel Benčík, ArtD.,Rector International Cooperation, and Rastislav Sedlačík, ArtD., Head of Studio in the Department of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, were welcomed by Eduardo Hipogrosso, Vice-Rector for Institutional Management and Development at Universidad ORT Uruguay.

"The significance of this visit lies in the fact that we are forging strong ties with leading universities, such as the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, with the aim of promoting student and faculty exchange programs between our two institutions, which will enable—for example—our graduates to pursue graduate studies abroad," Hipogrosso noted.

The vice-chancellor also explained that this agreement "will allow us to carry out projects such as Erasmus+ and establish ties with other universities, thereby expanding our network of contacts."

Mr. Hipogrosso invited the institution's leadership to participate in a collaborative research project with ORT's School of Design and the University of Palermo (Argentina) titled: "Design, Art, and Transmedia III: Expansive, Immersive, Fictional, and Playful Universes."

The project explores how art and design, enhanced by technology and in collaboration with other disciplines, create new audiovisual, digital, and interactive experiences.

The visitors also met with leading faculty members from the School of Design at Universidad ORT Uruguay in Universidad ORT Uruguay to exchange experiences and discuss new working methods.
