“Girls in ICT Day” is an initiative of the International Telecommunication Union designed to inspire young women and connect them with the experiences of women working in ICT, as well as to give them the opportunity to visit companies in the sector. The event took place as part of “International Girls in ICT Day.”
Schedule of activities:
9:30 a.m. – Opening remarks by Carolina Cosse, President of Antel. Location: LATU Auditorium
9:45 a.m. – Panel: “Experiences of Women Working in ICT.”
Location: LATU Auditorium.
10:45 a.m. – Visits to companies in the sector, located in the Technology and Events Park/LATU.
11:15 a.m. – Closing. Location: Espacio Ciencia.
1:30 p.m. – Robotics workshop. Satellite workshop. Innovation workshop. Location: Antel.
2:00 PM - Robotics awareness workshop with the Butiá robot.
3:00 PM - IIE – Electronic musical instruments made by students. Location: Faculty of Engineering, University of the Republic.
2:00 PM - “Scratch Workshop” led by Dr. Inés Kereki, Professor of Programming at the Faculty of Engineering, Universidad ORT Uruguay of Universidad ORT Uruguay, and Marcelo Rubino, Associate Professor at the Department of that faculty. Talk on video games and gender led by Germán Canuti and Sebastián Ruiz Díaz, assistants at the 3D Prototyping Lab. Video game project booths organized by the Department of Simulation and Video Games and a visit to the 3D Prototyping Lab. Location: Faculty of Engineering, Universidad ORT Uruguay of Universidad ORT Uruguay.
2:00 PM - Robotics Workshop led by Analía Conde, Engineer (University of Montevideo). Location: Dinatel Content and Applications Development Center and Digital TV Laboratory (Technology and Events Park/LATU).
4:00 PM – Talk “Among Us, Women Engineers” led by female engineers specializing in different disciplines, sharing their experiences and secrets in engineering. Location: Catholic University of Uruguay.
