The exhibition, organized by Galería Latina, features portraits of family members and friends of the late artist Carmelo Azadun, in which he captures scenes from everyday life.
The Uruguayan artist Carmelo de Arzadun, who died in 1968, was a professor at the Círculo de Bellas Artes beginning in 1917, director of the Juan Manuel Blanes Municipal Museum, a juror for the National Salons, and a member of the Fine Arts Commission.
He represented Uruguay at numerous exhibitions abroad, notably the "Ibero-American Exhibition in Seville" (Gold Medal, 1930), "Uruguayan Artists" (Buenos Aires, 1915), "Salons d'Automne" (Paris, 1926 and 1927), “La Maison de l’Unesco” (Paris, 1949), and “From Blanes to the Present Day” (Ecuador, 1955).
