On its YouTube channel, the IM has posted an explanatory video tutorial detailing the changes to the procedure.
New application for a site and construction permit from the IM: Single Application Form
The IM announced that it will introduce the so-called Single Application Form for Planning and Construction Procedures, exclusively for architects and civil engineers in the IM’s registry of companies and professionals. This form will be available in the“Procedures”section of the IM’s official website.
Steps in the process
The new process for obtaining site planning and building permits, according to the outline provided by the IM itself (the process has not yet been officially finalized), will be divided into five steps:
1. Access to the form
The first step is to go to the city government’s website, go to the“Procedures”section, and then to the“Building Permits”subsection.
2. Fill out the form with your personal information and consent details
There, using a user ID (you must have a “Gub.uy” account), you must fill out a form with your personal information, provide consent for the processing of that data, and indicate whether you have any family members or business ties to individuals working at the IM, among other details.
3. Details of the work
Next, you must provide details about the project, including total square footage and intended use. If required, you must attach additional forms for specific procedures.
4. Census data
Next, you must provide detailed data and information about the registers that will be included in the project. You can upload up to four registers; if there are more, you must use an additional text field.
5. Attach Files
Next, in the final stage, you must attach the relevant files supporting the application. Graphic materials must be submitted in a single file, with digital signatures.
Once you have completed the application, you will receive a confirmation code that will allow you to track the status of your application through the IM’s online system.
