Uruguay has a high proportion of ORT graduates specializing in IT

The study “Uruguay: IT Talent Report,” conducted jointly by the IT Observatory of the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (CUTI) and Microsoft, was recently released. The study found that among those specializing in information technology, a high proportion are ORT graduates.

According to the report, more than half of those with a college education attended Universidad ORT Uruguay of Universidad ORT Uruguay the University of the Republic.

The purpose of this study, conducted within the context of Uruguay’s robust and rapidly growing IT industry, is to analyze the potential talent pool in the field of information technology in Uruguay by examining the group of individuals with specific skills related to the sector, to identify their characteristics, and to assess the country’s standing in this regard within the regional context.

The report identifies a total of 21,846 people who possess at least one IT skill, representing a 16% increase from the previous year. It covers variables such as the number of people with these skills relative to the total population in countries across the region and the United States, gender distribution, college education, institutions where they acquired specific IT skills, languages, and work history.
