Associate Dean Recognized for His Contribution to Uruguay During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Dr. Fernando Paganini, associate dean for research and professor of telecommunications theory at the School of Engineering at Universidad ORT Uruguay, received honors for his contributions to the country as a member of the Honorary Scientific Advisory Group (GACH) of the Office of the President of the Republic.

As part of his work as a member of the GACH, Dr. Paganini, along with Drs. Henry Cohen and Rafael Radi, was honored by the Rural Association of Uruguay and the newspaper El País for his contributions to our country during the COVID-19 pandemic. The ceremony was attended by the President of the Republic, Dr. Luis Lacalle Pou, as well as other government officials.

On that occasion, the president expressed his gratitude and highlighted the important work and outstanding achievements of the three scientists. The event took place on September 9, 2020, at the Expo Prado venue.

In addition, in October 2020, Paganini was honored by the Uruguayan Parliament, along with Drs. Cohen and Radi, for his contribution to the management of the pandemic.

In addition, in December 2020, he was honored by the National Academy of Engineering for his work during the coronavirus pandemic, along with engineers Breogán Gonda, Nicolás Jodal, and Gastón Milano.
