Video by a teacher about Uruguay's national team roster surpasses 8.3 million views

“Los 26 de la Celeste,” the music video produced by the Uruguayan Football Association (AUF) and filmed and edited by Manuel Carmona, has surpassed 8.3 million views on Twitter alone.

Manuel Carmona, Esq., is a professor in the Bachelor’s Degree Program in Multimedia Design at the School of Communication and Design and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Design from Universidad ORT Uruguay.

The video featuring the 26 players of La Celeste has also racked up another 100,000 views on Instagram and more than 50,000 on YouTube, going viral on social media—where numerous accounts shared or uploaded the video to their profiles—and generating significant coverage in the international press.

The music video, which is also part of a campaign by Uruguay Natural to promote the country as a tourist destination, features Diego Alonso, coach of the Uruguayan national soccer team , selecting each of the 26 players who will compete in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar from a map and pointing out the geographic location where they are from.

Thanks to its creative originality, the content quickly went viral online and was picked up by various media outlets, including CNN, Marca, and Perfil, among others, which highlighted its epic and distinctive nature.
