ViperMed continues to rack up awards

ViperMed, a startup supported by the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, won third place on December 9, 2015, in the Emprendo awards presented by the newspaper El Observador.

In the 15th edition of the contest, it was selected by public vote from among ten startups chosen by the newspaper’s Café&Negocios team.

The awards ceremony was held at the World Trade Center and was attended by prominent figures from the national entrepreneurial community.

ViperMed is led by Ignacio Oliveri, who holds a bachelor's degree in computer science.

ViperMed is an app that provides educational resources for patients with various medical conditions through interactive videos created using content provided by medical societies.

Known for its educational videos focused on patient rehabilitation, the app aims to expand and reach 21 Spanish-speaking countries in the Americas within a year and a half.

This year, it formed a partnership with The British Medical Journal, through which it hopes to reach millions of people.

In 2011, he developed an online platform that allows users to upload videos, which they can then view on their laptop, cell phone, or tablet.

The startup currently works with eleven organizations in Uruguay and Chile, including the National Resources Fund, the Teletón Foundation Rehabilitation Center, and the Maldonado Physical Rehabilitation Center.
