“Most of the companies we think of as tech companies are actually technology service providers. And that’s why adding value and providing high-quality service are so important for these companies,” said Mr. Hofman in an interview published on the faculty’s website.

“When we talk about technology services—which make up the majority of the technology industry—it involves managing projects, the client, and product development. […] The difference lies in having a groundbreaking new vision of reality, the needs of the world and of clients, and what value is added,” he stated.

He highlighted the importance of training in technology business management programs, especially in emerging countries, since these organizations—which are built on internet or software platforms—can often operate globally with low investment. It is one of the areas in which Latin America and many emerging countries are focusing their efforts.

“This industry enables a small group of highly capable individuals to globalize their products and services and make a significant contribution to their country. It offers enormous advantages in emerging economies compared to the previous Industrial Revolution.”

Hofman holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). He is a graduate of the Strategic Management Master’s Program at the University of San Andrés. He is a professor in the Department of Business Administration at the University of San Andrés.
