Visiting Professor at the School of Communication and Design

Journalist Gustavo Sierra, a war correspondent and editor of the “El Mundo” section of the Clarín newspaper (Argentina), taught the “Journalistic Genres” module of the Professional Journalism Training Program from August 27 to December 5, 2012.

Sierra holds a Master's degree in Communications from Boston University (United States).

He is a war correspondent and editor of the “El Mundo” section of the Clarín newspaper (Argentina).

He was the editor of the Associated Press Latin American Service in New York.

She was a White House correspondent for CBS-Telenoticias and NBC-Canal de Noticias, and a reporter for CNN en Español.

Awards received:

  • in 2008, the “María Moors Cabot” Fellowship fromthe School of Journalism at Columbia University ( United States);
  • In 2005, the Wellington Foundation (Spain) awarded him a prize for his work “The Aymara Uprising,”
  • in 2004, the Ibero-American Congress on Digital Journalism for “The Argentine Wetbacks,”
  • in 2003, the Association of Foreign Correspondents in Spain for its coverage of the war in Iraq, and
  • in 2003 by the Buenos Aires Herald as “Best Coverage in Argentine Journalism”
