July 15, 2022
Welcome to the Specialization Diploma in Taxation, Specialization Diploma in Accounting, Master's in Taxation and Accounting Standards—IFRS, and Master's in Accounting and Finance.

“Innovating with pioneering graduate programs is standard practice at our school,” said Dr. Gaston J. Labadie, dean of the School of Business Administration and Social Sciences at Universidad ORT Uruguay, during the welcome ceremony for the Accounting and Taxation graduate programs at the School of Business Studies.

The event took place on Monday, July 11, in a hybrid format: some participants attended in person, while others joined online via HyFlex®.

The speakers were Dr. Nicolás Gambetta—academic coordinator of the graduate programs in Accounting and Taxation—, Dr. Gaston J. Labadie—dean of the School of Business and Social Sciences—, and Fernando Saltó, CPA—partner at PKF Uruguay and graduate of the Master’s program in Taxation and Accounting Standards (IFRS)—

The dean emphasized that innovation and globalization are among the faculty's core values.

“In today’s world, we have to aim higher, and pursuing a graduate degree is one way to take the next step,” said program coordinator Dr. Nicolás Gambetta.

Graduate Fernando Saltó said he began his master’s degree in 2013. “I’d like to advise you to make the most of it, to get as much out of it as possible. The new knowledge you’ll gain and how you’ll apply it at work is essential.”

Finally, Eduardo López de Leo, M.A.—professor of Organizational Behavior and Human Resources—led a team-building exercise for the participants.
