On Thursday, April 3, 2014, the School of Business and Social Sciences welcomed the new class of students to the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program.

This cohort has the distinction of being the first to enroll in the new MBA program at Universidad ORT Uruguay, which reinforces the values on which the School of Graduate and Executive Studies has historically been founded and incorporates the latest global trends in business management education.

With a clear message about the responsibility to improve management quality in Uruguay, the dean of the school, Dr. Gaston J. Labadie, opened the introductory session of the MBA program.

Next, the director of the university’s Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), Enrique Topolansky, MBA, highlighted the entrepreneurial spirit that sets the faculty and the program apart.

Finally, the MBA Coordinator, Dr. Luis Silva Domingo, spoke about the MBA program at Universidad ORT Uruguay, highlighting student-centered learning methodologies such as the use of case studies and simulations.

The Communication and Negotiation Workshop was also launched, led by Yamandú Bermúdez, MBA, José Gordin, and Eduardo López de Leo, M.A. The event continued on April 6, 7, and 8 at the Hotel del Lago.

The introductory session kicked off the process of helping students settle in and integrate into the faculty’s Graduate and Executive School. Following a warm welcome, the groundwork was laid for an intensive learning experience.
