On August 22, 2024, the awards ceremony for the contest—organized by the faculty with the support of Radio FM Like—took place at the Pocitos Campus.
First Prize: Tetrix, by Juan Manuel Curbelo
First prize was awarded to Juan Manuel Curbelo, a student at Jesús María School, for his project Tetrix.
Thanks to his outstanding application, Juan Manuel received a full scholarship to pursue a Architecture program or the Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design at the School of Architecture at Universidad ORT Uruguay.

Second and third prizes: " Treehouse," by Nicanor Bado, and " Villa on the Lake," by Cristal Ferrería
Second prize was awarded to Nicanor Bado, from the Juan XXIII Pre-University Institute, for his project Treehouse.
The third prize, meanwhile, was awarded to Cristal Ferrería, from the Institute of Construction Education, for her project Villa on the Lake.
Both students received a 50% scholarship to pursue a degree in Architecture or a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design at Universidad ORT Uruguay.
Special mentions
The jury also awarded three honorable mentions to the following students for their creative and well-developed proposals:
- Cozci, by Pei Ru Wang, from The British Schools.
- Film, by Guadalupe Gómez, from Liceo No. 1 Ipoll.
- Less is more, by Juan Pablo Tarigo, from The British Schools.
Additional prizes
In addition to the aforementioned scholarships, the six selected students—including the winners and those who received honorable mentions—were awarded a full scholarship to take the course Architectural Projects with BIM Methodology at the School of Architecture.
In this 20th edition of the contest Design Your Room, a total of 126 design projectswere submitted by students from various educational institutions in Uruguay.
Throughout the process of creating their projects, the participants received guidance from senior students in the Interior Design program at Universidad ORT Uruguay.
