The competition was organized by the instructors of the Urban Planning Workshop in the Architecture program—architects Federico Bervejillo and Patricia Goldaracena—with the participation of the students in that workshop.
An ideas competition held at the Punta Negra Urban Planning Workshop in the Piriápolis Microregion proposed bringing together projects from various stakeholders interested in developing the area, including proposals for self-contained subdivisions, private housing developments, farm-based neighborhoods, and rural tourism initiatives.
The challenge of the competition was to develop planning guidelines and principles for a master plan, with a particular focus on the issue of urban integration within a landscape of great natural beauty.
The proposal stems from the need to explore peri-urban areas with tourism potential, where public and private initiatives are already underway.
The jury was composed of the Dean of the School, architect Gastón Boero, and Octavio Bombaci, an architect specializing in urban planning.
The winners of the contest were the following teams:
First prizes:
- Team members: Gabriela Gallareto, Noelia Mata, and Claudia Tanoni
- Team members: Nicolás Pérez, Santiago Gari, and Javier Riva Zuchelli
Second prizes:
