Terms and Conditions
Women interested in pursuing one of the following degree programs at Universidad ORT Uruguay are eligible to apply:

Electrical Engineering
Electrical engineers plan and design facilities of all sizes for the generation, transmission, and use of electrical energy.

Electronics Engineering
Graduates of the Electronic Engineering program design, commission, and maintain electronic systems across a wide range of fields.

Telecommunications Engineering
Telecommunications engineers manage both the commissioning and operation of all types of electronic communications systems.
This scholarship fund is open only to female students entering college for the first time.
Students from other degree programs at ORT or from other universities who are interested in switching to or starting a second degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or Telecommunications Engineering are not eligible to participate.
Each year, one winner is selected to receive a scholarship covering 80% of the total cost of the degree program of their choice, which may be Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or Telecommunications Engineering.

Steps for applying
Women interested in applying for the Competitive Scholarship Fund for Women must follow these steps:

Apply
to ORT’s Academic Excellence Scholarship Fund (FEXA) or Competitive Scholarship Fund (FBC; except for the March term).
Note: The Scholarship Fund for Equivalency Exams (FBR) is excluded.

Select
one of the following three majors:
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronics Engineering
- Telecommunications Engineering

Schedule
a meeting with an academic advisor for one of those three majors.

To yield
the Academic Aptitude Test (PAA), in its five different rounds.
Results
The scholarship is awarded to the woman who scores the highest on the PAA exam.
- Those who have already registered and applied for a scholarship fund are automatically entered into this competitive scholarship fund. If they do not win the Women’s Competitive Scholarship Fund, they will retain the scholarship percentage they were initially awarded.
- Those who are already registered and have not applied for a scholarship fund may apply for this competitive scholarship fund by selecting one of the funds listed above. If they do not win the Women’s Competitive Scholarship Fund, they will retain the scholarship percentage they would have received from the fund to which they applied.
- Students who are not currently enrolled but have applied for a scholarship fund for one of the three degree programs—Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or Telecommunications Engineering—and have taken the PAA exam are automatically eligible for this competitive scholarship fund. If they do not win the Women’s Competitive Scholarship Fund, they retain the scholarship percentage they would have initially received and may enroll in any of the aforementioned degree programs.
- Students who are not enrolled and have not applied for a scholarship fund for one of the three degree programs—Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or Telecommunications Engineering—may apply for this competitive scholarship fund by selecting one of the funds listed above. If they do not win the Competitive Women’s Scholarship Fund, they will retain the scholarship percentage they would have received based on the fund to which they applied.
The administration of the Women’s Competitive Scholarship Fund is governed by the same criteria that apply to the administration of scholarship funds at Universidad ORT Uruguay.
The Academic Aptitude Test (PAA) may only be taken on the dates set by Universidad ORT Uruguay only if you have properly applied for one of the aforementioned scholarship funds.
