Vipermed, a startup supported by the CIE (Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship), won third place on December 9, 2015, in the Emprendo awards presented by the newspaper El Observador. In the 15th edition, it was voted on by the public from among ten startups selected by the newspaper’s Café&Negocios team. The awards ceremony took place at the World Trade Center, attended by prominent figures from the national entrepreneurial ecosystem. Vipermed is led by Ignacio Oliveri, a graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Systems.

Vipermed is an app that provides educational resources for patients with various medical conditions through interactive videos created using content provided by medical societies.

Recognized for its educational videos focused on patient rehabilitation, the app aims to expand and reach 21 Spanish-speaking countries in the Americas within a year and a half. To this end, it has formed a partnership with The British Medical Journal, through which it expects to expand its reach to millions of people.

In 2011, it developed an online platform that serves as a platform for distributing the videos, which users can view on their laptops, cell phones, or tablets.

Currently, the startup works with eleven companies in Uruguay and Chile, including the National Resources Fund, the Teletón Foundation Rehabilitation Center, and the Maldonado Physical Rehabilitation Center.
