The Department of Jewish Studies at Universidad ORT Uruguay the Rodríguez Fabregat Commission are organizing the lecture “71 Years Since the Adoption of United Nations Resolution 181,” presented by Daniel Rodríguez Oteiza and Prof. Rodolfo Fatorusso. The event will take place on November 27, 2018, at 7:30 p.m. at the Pocitos Auditorium (2633 España Blvd.).
The conference marks the71st anniversary of the adoption of United Nations Resolution 181 on November 29, 1947, which led to the establishment of the State of Israel.
Daniel Rodríguez Oteiza is the managing editor of the newspaper El País and the son of Prof. Enrique Rodríguez Fabregat, who served as Uruguay’s ambassador to the UN and whose contributions were instrumental in the establishment of the State of Israel.
Prof. Rodolfo Fatorusso is a writer, literary critic, and publisher. He is the director of Artemisa Editores. He has been a cultural columnist for the weekly newspaper Búsqueda since 1976 and for Radio Sarandí since 1994. He served as secretary of the Uruguay-Israel Cultural Institute and as editor-in-chief of the daily newspaper El Día.
