Course Selection and Course Equivalency

Once you have completed the application process, you will need to select the courses you will take at your host university; upon your return, some of these may be recognized as equivalent by your home institution.

Courses must be approved by the academic office in order to be recognized at Universidad ORT Uruguay.

Foreign universities cannot guarantee access to every course, so it is important to choose alternative courses in case of any issues.

Changes to the curriculum

Any changes to the curriculum must be submitted in writing to the academic coordinator and approved by him or her.

Otherwise, the re-certifications will not be guaranteed.

Retakes

Retakes are recorded in the academic transcript without a grade.

Only courses that have been passed are eligible for retaking.

Courses in which a student fails or drops out are not considered for credit transfer and are not reflected in the student's academic record.

Transcripts

Transcripts are sent to Universidad ORT Uruguay two months after the end of the semester.

If you need the certificate in advance to register for the next semester, you should request it from the exchange office at the foreign university.

Some universities issue certificates directly to students, in which case the students are responsible for forwarding them to the exchange office at Universidad ORT Uruguay.

If the courses taken abroad were completed before the courses scheduled for the upcoming semester, students may register after the exchange program by submitting a digital copy of their transcript.

However, you must present the original document to receive credit for the courses.
