Moya holds a PhD in Natural Resources Science and Management (Forest Products) from the University of Minnesota (United States); a Master’s degree in Wood Construction from the University of Bío-Bío (Chile); and a degree in Architecture from the University of the Republic (Uruguay). She was awarded the Academic Leadership Award by the ORT School of Architecture in 2016.

At Universidad ORT Uruguay, Moya is a research professor, full professor of Structures 4, and academic coordinator of the Diploma in Design, Calculation, and Construction of Wood Structures.
In addition to Dr. Moya, the researchers from the School of Architecture who are currently members of the SNI are:
- Dr. Paula Cardellino, Level I thesis advisor in the Humanities department.
- Guillermo Lockhart, Ph.D., professor of History and Theory of Architecture, with an introductory-level position in the Humanities department.
- Dr. Tyana Santini, a faculty member in the Department of Architecture, teaches introductory courses in the social sciences.
