The play "Gatomaquia," written by Prof. Laura Pouso, a faculty member at the School of Communication and Design, received the "Teatro del Mundo" award for best foreign production in Buenos Aires on November 27. This is the first time that the award, presented for the past eleven years by the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), has been given to a Uruguayan production.
Gatomaquia competed in its category against Cirque du Soleil, La Zaranda, the Spanish Classical Theater Company, and Laurie Anderson, among others.
