The children's picture book *El buzo amarillo* by Alfonso Lourido, who holds a degree in graphic design, is one of the six finalists for the 2021 APILA – Primera Impresión Award (International Picture Book Award, Spain). A total of 440 projects were submitted.
In 2013, Apila Ediciones established the Apila First Impression Award to give illustrators who had not yet published any work with an ISBN (except for self-published works) the opportunity to have their first professional album published.
Lourido has had a distinguished career in graphic design. Recently, his production company, Carajito Films, received a special mention for*La roca y mar Filmarket Hub’s Latam Online Pitchbox, placing it among the top 10 TV series in development across all of Latin America. In addition, the designer was one of 80 artists selected worldwide to participate in the Kaunas International Illustration Biennial in Lithuania. Also in 2020, he participated in the Illustrator Wall section at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair 2020.
