These pieces were created under the slogan "Skin is as fragile as a child" as part of the 2017–2018 skin cancer prevention campaign. The awards ceremony was held in the auditorium of the Honorary Commission for the Fight Against Cancer.
To promote awareness and the implementation of preventive measures against skin cancer, the Uruguayan Society of Dermatology invited the Academic Coordination Office of the Bachelor’s Degree Program in Multimedia Design to organize an internal contest among its students.
In this context, students in the courses "Graphics for Film and TV" (taught by Professor Magdalena Álvarez) and "Digital Design 6" (taught by Professor Juan González) created three audiovisual pieces as a required assignment and to enter the contest.
The pieces were presented to officials including the Minister of Public Health, Jorge Basso; the Minister of Education and Culture, María Julia Muñoz; and Álvaro Luongo, president of the Honorary Commission for the Fight Against Cancer.
