Drawing on his extensive experience supporting entrepreneurs in a country that has been a pioneer in this field, the speaker discussed how new technologies can turn a problem into an opportunity, presented the philosophy of failure, and explained how the country managed to emerge from the crisis of the 1990s through public policies based on innovation.
Seven decades after its founding, Israel is described by experts as the“startup nation” and is considered the third most innovative country in the world, according to the World Economic Forum’s Global Competitiveness Index. In 2015 alone, 1,400 startups were created in the country, and Tel Aviv in particular is the fifth-best city in the world for entrepreneurship, behind Silicon Valley, New York, Los Angeles, and Boston.
