Architecture students from ORT designed various proposals for a hypothetical new headquarters for the Uruguayan Football Association (AUF). The projects were entered into a competition judged by Diego Lugano, Ignacio Alonso, Alfredo Etchandy, Andrés Gobba, and Roberto Monteagudo.

Workifit is a startup incubated at the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) at Universidad ORT Uruguay. Its founders are: Christian Bouvier, Diego Ernst, Ezequiel Jardim, Álvaro Larrosa, and Alexis Valín Mederos, a graduate of the Master’s program in Business Administration and Electronic Engineering at Universidad ORT Uruguay.

The students proposed projects designed to establish the headquarters of the Uruguayan Football Association in Batlle Park.

For the first time, a Uruguayan university has been included in the Times Higher Education Latin America University Rankings. Uruguay has thus joined the list of 166 selected universities in Latin America, represented by Universidad ORT Uruguay.

The research team includes Paula Da Cunda, a graduate in Biotechnology Engineering, and Ana María Ibañez and Felipe Burgos, who are Biotechnology students.

Eduardo Mangarelli, an engineer, is the dean of the School of Engineering and a graduate of ORT’s Systems Engineering program.

Diego Hodara, Ph.D., is a tenured professor of International Real Estate Markets and Contract Negotiation in the School of Architecture.

According to the QS ranking for Executive MBAs, the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program ranks between 101st and 141st, alongside other prestigious programs.

“Changes that would normally take three to five years happened in just two weeks. It’s as if we had sped up time and traveled to La Pedrera in 59 seconds. That’s the kind of transformation and the kind of acceleration we’ve gone through,” said Eduardo Mangarelli, dean of the School of Engineering and a graduate of ORT’s Systems Engineering program.
