Conference: “Social, Local, and Mobile: The New Frontier of the Point of Sale”

On May 31, 2012, the Faculty of Administration and Social Sciences hosted the conference “Social, Local, and Mobile: The New Frontier of the Point of Sale,” presented by Claudio Darin, a professor in the MBA and Executive Programs at the Business School of the University of Palermo (Argentina). The speaker, who heads the consulting firm Marketdynamo – Business Strategy and Marketing, analyzed the changes brought about by the widespread adoption of smartphones, the potential of tablets, and applications that utilize location-based services and the socialization of consumption through social media. The conference was organized by the faculty’s Marketing Department.

“SoLoMo” is an abbreviation for “Social, Local, and Mobile” and refers to the convergence of these three elements of digital marketing.

Mr. Darin holds an MBA and a Master’s degree in Business Management and Marketing from ESIC: Business & Marketing School ( Madrid). He has previously held management positions in marketing at Assist-Card, Caterpillar, General Motors, and Telefónica. He was a consultant at Arthur Andersen Business Consulting. He served as a project leaderat Telefónica Internacional, based in Madrid.
