October 13, 2023
Inés Tiscornia, M.A., deputy coordinator of Environmental Management at ORT, was invited by the Center for Educational Technology and Ceibal to give a talk in which she shared the recycling and environmental awareness initiatives carried out by the university in recent years.

The initiative, which took place on October 9 and 11, was aimed at public school students and sought to inspire them and introduce them to technology through hands-on projects, in this case focused on environmental issues.

During the talk, Tiscornia shared examples with the students from the ORT Recicla campaign—the name given to the series of initiatives launched by the university in 2017 to improve its waste management system.

This conference served as the starting point for an initiative that schools will carry out in October, with the support of facilitator teachers, posing the challenge of “thinking green” in the classroom while incorporating technological resources.

The contact was made through Elisa Ferenczi, M.A., director of the Center for Educational Technology and Ceibal at the Montevideo Central Departmental School District.
