ORT Wins the 2024 University Sports League Futsal Clausura Tournament

The men's futsal team won the title after defeating Hebraica 4-1.

On Monday, September 30, the Universidad ORT Uruguay men’s futsal team Universidad ORT Uruguay against Hebraica in theUniversity Sports League’s Clausura Tournament.

The match, which took place at the gym at Plaza de Deportes No. 11 in Cerro, ended with a decisive 4-1 victory for ORT, securing the championship title.

In addition to ORT and Hebraica, teams from CUBA, the University of Montevideo, Club Atlético Bohemios, and Maristas participated in the tournament.

The dedication and hard work shown both in weekly training sessions and in national and international tournaments have been key to this achievement by the team coached by Martín Sánchez.

This victory comes after the team finished as runner-up in the Apertura Tournamentin July 2024 and reaffirms ORT's commitment to competitive sports, both locally and internationally.

Commitment to college sports

The Sports Department at Universidad ORT Uruguay to be a leader in promoting competitive sports.

The teams compete in various sports, including 7-a-side soccer, basketball, handball, hockey, and volleyball, in both local and international tournaments, giving students and alumni the opportunity to compete at the highest level.

Training sessions are held regularly, and athletic achievements—such as the recent futsal championship—demonstrate the university’s commitment to the well-rounded development of its athletes.
