The final thesis project for the Systems Engineering degree, titled “License Plate Recognition System,” carried out by Juan Papazian and Itay Brenner for the company Ciemsa, received a special mention from the Uruguayan Association of Engineers (AIU) as part of the engineering project awards held in celebration of World Engineering Day, an initiative of the World Federation of Engineering Organizations.
The event took place at the AIU headquarters on March 3, 2023.
The project consists of a system for detecting, tracking, and classifying vehicles in free-flow traffic using various sensors, including radars, cameras, and other components.
