On November 1, 2005, the United Nations General Assembly decided to designate January 27 as the annual International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust.
This year, that commemoration was particularly poignant, marked by renewed displays of empathy, courage, and creativity across much of the world, despite the challenges posed by the global spread of COVID-19 and the resulting restrictions.
