mar 19, 2010ORT began its journey in sports competitions in 1999. As Mario Matalonga, Coordinator of the Department of Social and Sports Activities, recalls, that year the institution began participating in women’s soccer and field hockey at the students’ initiative. In 2000, while still serving as Coordinator of the Bachelor’s Program in Systems, Matalonga joined the newly created University Sports Organizing Committee (CODU) as ORT’s delegate, which was the first sign that sports activities at the university were becoming more formalized.
